I’m lost, but I remember when…

This is going to begin as a blog but hopefully expand into a community of voices helping one another to make progress in circumstances where a sense of control, direction, or even hope has gone missing. Experiences can be shared, solutions engineered, answers learned, and support discovered, but in the end Home finds you. Say hi below, raise a hand, share a thought. Let’s talk.

Are you spiritually homeless?

Moel Famau, 2019

You said that we would always be, Without you I feel lost at sea, Through the darkness you’d hide with me, like the wind we’d be wild and free.” (Avicii, Without You).

Our lives are surrounded today by the bombed out remains of so many disappointments, half-finished projects, last minute course corrections and the like. The shards of our dreams taunt our imagination, the shell-shocked stare of a soul in anguish looks out at us from the desk opposite, or the Teams call, or the mask covered face on the street. And we know, we just know, that when we emerge into the spring sunlight post-lockdown, we won’t be returning to normal. Somehow the world has shifted. Somehow, home isn’t where it was. Somewhen in the recent past, my mind became homeless.

Step one is to recognise that this might be you right now, it IS the real you, and it isn’t JUST you. Together, we’ll point one another home.

Meditate

The last thing you might feel like doing is spending more time in your own head. I get it. You just want peace.

So Concentrate. Find a thought, an image, a memory, a place and hold it. Fight thoughtlessness, fight distraction, fight complacency, fight lethargy. Hold that thought; turn up the voltage till it shines and burns, and enjoy for a moment the glow it gives.
