Leadership in a Crisis

This is from retired US Navy SEAL Commander Jocko Willink, and in the last few hours it has rightly gone viral.

The President of the USA is the Commander-in-Chief of its Armed Forces. He (for a little while longer at least) is not just a Statesman but a Supreme Commander, a Talisman, an Example and a Beacon. He embodies the US response. In a crisis he steps forward and leads. It seems that all Biden has – as he lets his enemies steal the Crown Jewels of military hardware, territory, hostages, geo-strategic advantage, his allies’ trust, the future of young boys and women, control of the region and ground for harbouring terrorism for the next few decades – is a quiet word that we need to trust the Taliban.

Yeah. Right.
